how to Make a simple Didgeridoo

What you need:

  • A length of PVC pipe cut to 130cm (51 inches)

  • Piece of 120 grit sandpaper

  • Small piece of beeswax (use a beeswax candle)

  • About 20mins of your time

  1. Cut your pipe to the around 130cm in length, this is a reasonable starting size, too long will be tricky and too short near impossible at this stage

  2. Sand the end of the pipe you want to use as a mouthpiece so there’s no rough edges

  3. Warm the wax using hot water, some will melt a bit but that’s OK it needs to be soft and pliable but not liquid

  4. Roll your wax into a snake, with enough length to cover the diameter of the pipe

  5. Place the wax around the end of the pipe, then pinch with thumb and forefinger until it’s firmly bonded to the pipe and forms a nice bevelled edge mouth piece at the top.

  6. Don’t worry if it doesn’t work out first time! Just scrape it all off and repeat the process!
